Bundesliga champions, sealing the title in Louis van Gaal's first season in charge;
UEFA Champions League runners-up, reaching the final before losing 2-0 to Inter Milan;
DFB-Pokal winners, beating Werder Bremen 4-0 in the final to complete the domestic double.

This vibrant red home shirt, with its white collar, sleeve trim and shoulder stripes, is the Adidas design Bayern used across that double-winning, near-treble campaign.

Anatoliy Tymoshchuk (#44) arrived that summer from Zenit Saint Petersburg as a defensive midfielder, brought in to compete for the holding-midfield role alongside captain Mark van Bommel and Bastian Schweinsteiger, with Arjen Robben, Franck Ribéry and breakout teenager Thomas Müller driving the attack. Under Louis van Gaal, the squad blended established internationals with emerging academy talent to sweep the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal. Tymoshchuk marked his first season in Bavaria with a Champions League goal against Juventus on the way to the club's run to the final in Madrid.
