- 2nd place finish in the Bundesliga, finishing six points behind champions Werder Bremen;
- UEFA Champions League Round of 16, eliminated on aggregate by Real Madrid;
- DFB-Pokal quarter-final exit, beaten by Alemannia Aachen.
